Resilience

A great number of situations require us to use the qualities of “Resilience.” Particularly the environment of education and our own personal development here at Trinity Academy on a daily basis.

A learner in the ALC has continued with a range of personal issues to show his ‘resilience's qualities in preceding with his ability to find the value of education and learning. For a number of years, he has lacked strong role models and repeatedly, discipline in the classroom.Anewplan for his education, developed with staff at Trinity Academy, has allowed the young man to begin to recognise his issues with social skills and has succeeded in his development tto slowly “learn to learn” once more. This has involved an extension in his day to allow for alternative education off-site visiting the Falconry Centre and allowing more time to engage in creative activities such as Art. Further, due to such activities, the learner is beginning to deal with many personal issues, which have had an effect upon his development in the past. A great success for the ALC!

The student continues to increase his academic timetable and development of his focus upon tasks at school. He has shown great ‘resilience’ in not following his desire to run out of the classroom and has a ‘core task’ timetable set for each day providing much -needed structure. Outstanding progression for this student!

The key, however, is to have the “Courage to Continue”, having developed the skills and basic tools to recognise the “Resilience” required by all in society to progress. As every day can be a “better day”, in which we all can learn something new and fantastic!
