School Day Reward Chart

Trinity Academy Newcastle Trust has several learners who receive additional funding from the Local Authority in order to provide the appropriate support that they require which can exist in various capacities, such as 1:1, 2:1, 3:1 and alternative educational provisions. As a 1:1 I support Elisha within the classroom in order to facilitate her educational development and ensure she is progressing academically, but for the most part, my role is to work on Elisha’s emotional and mental health difficulties.
Elisha has significantly improved in the last academic year and has developed skills in resilience, emotional regulation and sociability which she demonstrates every day. In order to maintain and constantly evolve these skills, Elisha uses a Reward Chart, so she is able to reflect on her behaviour and emotional management throughout the day, which she then uses to be able to plan for the following days. Elisha can earn 1 star per lesson depending on whether she has managed her behaviour, used positive language and completed her classwork. Elisha also uses the reward chart to earn a music lesson every week when she has begun to learn to play the piano. Elisha demonstrates resilience within these lessons as learning a new instrument can become frustrating and discouraging when mistakes are made, but Elisha is learning to persevere and practice.
