Back into the wild

As part of magic Friday, we have been given the opportunity to support an outdoor learning space at Brockwell Woods, on Blaydon Burn Farm.
Over the coming months, learners will access the woods and learn new skills in Bushcraft, starting fires from collecting wood, using magnesium steels to spark and ignite fires. We've also been asked to create natural walls, an example is shown in the picture.
New experiences using bushcraft tools, saws, knives and axes, and bringing together learners who would not normally work together, on one common task, strengthening relationships with staff and learners.
Taking our learners outside into a natural learning environment will support their mental wellbeing, and give them responsibilities they may never have had before.
We'll update you week on week with the progress of Camp T3.
