Budding Engineers visited the Port of Tyne in Blyth to explore careers offshore in partnership with Engineering UK. Students were given information about the profession, including a day in the life of a Wind Farm Technician. They tried their hand at an Engineering lesson from Newcastle college staff and explored the components and story of ‘the Blyth Transformer’. The event inspired many of our young people to focus their thoughts on the future and possibilities in this growth area of employment!
