Visit by the Violence Reduction Unit

Learners at Trinity Academy Newcastle upper have had the opportunity to attend several workshops ran by the Violence reduction unit. So far they have attended workshops on Knife Crime and Malicious communication. This will be followed by workshops on County Lines and Drugs and Alcohol.

In the Knife crime Workshop, Learners consider the impact and consequences of Knife Crime. The lesson involved an interactive discussion on the law, Joint Enterprise and the effect of knife crime on perpetrators, victims, families and communities.

The Malicious Communication workshop encouraged learners to consider the impact and consequences around sending and receiving messages, texts and posts on social media. They then discussed how unkind, inappropriate or offensive messages can impact both the sender and the recipient.

Learners responded to the workshops well and gained a lot of invaluable information.
