Upper site Anti-Bullying ambassadors meet the Lower Site

Last week the upper site anti-bullying ambassadors made a trip to the lower site to meet their anti-bullying ambassadors and discuss ways to combat bullying in our school.
The upper site have two ambassadors, one who represents and supports key stage 3 and one who represents key stage 4. Unfortunately only the learner representative from Key Stage 4 could attend, but he enjoyed his trip and shared the information with the learners from the upper site afterwards.
Together the learners discussed strategies to prevent bullying including:
- Open and honest conversations between staff members and learners who use hurtful words or are involved in bullying behaviour.
- How anti-bullying ambassadors are identified in school.
- An anonymous reporting system.
The lower site discussed a ‘buddy’ system as well as how to report bullying and the best ways to support people who may feel they are getting bullied.
The learner who made the trip to the lower site enjoyed his visit and got a lot from it. He is a school council member as well, and he is hoping to visit again, this time bringing the rest of school council.
