Minecrafting Maths
Calculating the area of compound shapes went from paper to screen this afternoon with another instalment of ‘how does he do that in Maths’ afternoons.
Learners have been tasked with the retrieval of the formula to calculate the area of rectangles and squares, and recalling multiplication and addition methods calculating a variety of compound shapes – and then set the task of recreating the shapes in Minecraft.
This was a great interactive way for the learners to cooperate, communicate and demonstrate their learning! Brilliant!
