Learners take part in Youth First Aid course
The British Red Cross visited Trinity Academy Newcastle Upper Site to deliver a fantastic youth first aid course to our KS4 learners. This was a fantastic session and the learners were a credit to the school (Gordon from Red Cross said they were excellent, attentive and engaged).
They learnt lots of essential life skills such as the primary survey Check for Danger, Check for a Response, Open Airway, Check Breathing, Check Circulation, recovery position, CPR and use of an AED.
Learners had the opportunity to practice the skills practically and proved very able. All the learners earned a certificate and said they would be much more comfortable in a first aid scenario.
