KS3 with the British Red Cross
On Wednesday 24th April, the British Red Cross returned to Trinity Academy Newcastle Upper Site to deliver the Youth First Aid course. A whopping 20 learners attended the course gaining a First Aid certificate and essential life skills and knowledge.
The learners were extremely enthusiastic and it was great seeing them engage with the practical activities such as, Initial Assessment, clearing airways, the recovery position, CPR and use of AED (automated external defibrillator)
Both instructors (Brian and Martin) expressed how pleased they were with our learners and their eagerness to participate. This was echoed by staff that supported this activity. I would like to thank all involved for making this such a successful and memorable visit. Well done!
