Kindness in the Sanctuary

Forest School at The Sanctuary has got off to a flying start, and learners have been helping develop this exciting new project.
One of the things we are most proud of is the kindness that learners have been showing each other, they really have embraced it. This term the focus has been on teamwork and taking responsibility and learners have helped each other establish forest school, make campfires and collect materials needed. The students have also helped each other to plan how they want forest school to look by working together draw plans and collect resources for the den they will be building. We have a new learner who is five years old who has been supported by one of his older peers to build some steps to help him access a swing. Learners have been encouraged and worked hard to take responsibility for sharing share tools, equipment and resources which has been wonderful to see. There’s a real sense of teamwork in the camp and learners are enthusiastic about supporting each other where it is needed
