It's KNOT learning

One of the important skills to develop in our lives is tying our shoelaces and teaching how to is something Mr Butler has done with his own children.

Today, the Outdoor Education group were not learning; I mean KNOT learning which is an essential skill for bushcraft.

From the simplest knot, the Clove Hitch, learners followed worded and pictured instructions and practised, practised, practised until they were confident with this knot.

Then we moved on, to join two pieces of wood together using the square lashing, which started from the clove hitch.

As you can see, a very neat square lashing was produced, and the application could be building a shelter when out in the wild. Well done to all the learners who persevered with this activity!
