Taking the inside, outside.
"Can we use that space out there" came from a group of learners who frequent Mr Butlers room day after day. The space being the quadrangle in between Mr Butler's and Mr McGarvie's Maths classrooms.
So we asked our Facilities Manager who allowed us to take ownership of one of the picnic benches on the farm, to place in the space for the learners to sit when they have lunch, and indeed as they suggested on nice days (even colder days if they wanted) to be outside 'doing our lessons'.
It's also an opportunity to get learners out in the fresh air allowing an inherent need to connect with nature, giving time to relax and learn.
