Knife Crime Awareness Week (15th May - 21st May)
"Everyone must understand the problem of knife crime, because everyone has a personal responsibility to tackle it. #KnifeCrimeAwarenessWeek highlights the complexity of the problem, the devastation that it causes to families and communities and ultimately that knife crime is preventable. We know that there is no single solution to the complex issue of knife crime. It requires a multi-faceted approach that includes education, enforcement, and community engagement."
The Ben Kinsella Trust report that Knife Crime has risen in the UK more than 50% in the last ten years (20212-2022). As educators at Trinity Academy Newcastle Upper Site, we know it is our responsibility to educate our learners to the risks and long-term, devasting consequences of Knife Crime.
