Learning, by questions
Consolidating learning with Mr. Butler as some Year 10 learners have been recalling their 4 operation methods and branching into fractions - some as a retrieval, others as a refresher.
So we use Learning by Questions which is an online programme providing sets of questions aimed at understanding, fluency, reasoning and problem solving - on any topic learners have been working on.
Learners are versed at logging in demonstrating their Digital Skills and as a group, we see a dashboard of correct, correct 'eventually' or incorrect answers. With the incorrect answers, Mr. Butler freezes the programme and as a group, we walk through the question to recall all prior learning, embedding the skills and working collaboratively. A great format for formative assessment.
