What was interesting was some of the comments from the learners, such as "This isn't a test of times tables, this is a test of memory."

Of course it is, similar to their exams, a test of memory. 

Then, Mr Butler, in typical Mr Butler style took their memorised skills into the lesson when learners were calculating ratios, demonstrating their revised skills with each other.
