Key Stage Three Practical Biology

Purple group have been learning about bones and muscles in their science lessons.
As part of this we’ve dissected pig’s trotters as they’re remarkably similar to human feet and legs. The learners quickly got over the “yuck” factor and were able to safely use a range of tools including; scalpels, tweezers and scissors to dissect the trotters. They were able to see the bones, ligaments, tendons and cartilage which has really helped them understand a bit more about human anatomy.
